President Casteen Opens New Building in the Research Park

On October 13, 2006, John T. Casteen III, president of the University of Virginia, officially marked the completion of the newest building, Town Center Two, in the University of Virginia Research Park at a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by University and community leaders and research park tenants.

The Town Center Two is an 84,000 square foot Class A office building whose tenants, in large part, are companies supporting activities of the National Ground Intelligence Center, including Battelle Memorial Institute, and Booz Allen & Hamilton. These companies actively collaborate with faculty researchers at the University and recruit many of its graduates.

Town Center Two is the seventh building to be constructed in the Park. Plans are currently under way for Town Centers Three and Four.
